Question - Can dogs come into the site or go on the cable cars?
Answer - Dogs are permitted in the following areas on a lead:
1. On the Cable Cars
2. In the grounds of the Hilltop Park

Dogs are NOT permitted in the following areas:

1. In the caves
2. In any of the buildings at the Heights of Abraham
3. In any of the play areas

Question - Do we need special clothes and footwear for the Caverns?
Answer - The caves are a constant 10oC so a jumper is advisable. There are good pathways and steps throughout the caverns, however sensible sturdy shoes are advisable, and no high heels!

Question - Where can I park?
Answer - The Heights of Abraham does not have its own car park, however there are 4 PAY &DISPLAY car parks in Matlock Bath operated by the Derbyshire Dales District Council giving a capacity of 670 car parking spaces. The nearest one to the Cable Car base station is the Matlock Bath Railway Car Park, which also has coach parking and is only a couple of hundred yards away.

Question - Does the price of the ticket include entrance down the caverns?
Answer - Your Cable Car ticket includes your return journey and both caverns.

Question - How long should I allow for the visit?
Answer - The average visit is between 3 & 5 hours.

Question - How often are the cavern tours?
Answer - Tours run between every 15mins to every hour depending on the time of year. Call 01629 582365 ext 220for details

Question - Is there any local accommodation?

Question - Can we take pushchairs into the Caves?
Answer - No, the natural formation of the caverns is such that they are not suitable for pushchairs. Pushchairs can be left in the Great Masson Pavilion and collected on your return.
