
FATHER'S DAY - HIGH FALLS DUCK RACE
Sunday 20th June at The Heights of Abraham Matlock Bath Derbyshire will see the launch of
the first ever Father's Day - High Falls Duck Race. The first 50 fathers, taking the Cable Car
to the Summit on Sunday June 20th will get free entry to the race, with a 1st prize of a
dozen bottles of Peroni Italian beer, 2nd prize 6 bottles and 3rd prize 4 bottles and
receive a couple of etched Peroni glasses.
The race will be in 5 heats, starting at 11am with the 1st & 2nd place ducks going forward to
the final which should start at around 1pm. The starting line is in the stream outside the
Fossil Factory & Rock Shop. From here, it runs down hill towards the x3 waterfalls leading
eventually in to the pond, close to the TreeTops Visitor Centre. Viewing areas will be
available for spectators and competitors alike.
Fathers on arrival at Top Station will be given a numbered raffle ticket which will identify their
Duck and at the end of the race win or lose they can all take their Duck home.
John Coulson Marketing & Events Manager reported ‘ We are looking forward to this and
have had some practice runs with our ‘stable of racing ducks'! I think this fun family event
will be exciting and entertaining. If all goes well this will become an annual event here at the
Heights.'
