An Ichthyowhat? Our brand new exhibition The Fossil Factory is now open to visitors and is home not only to lots of fun information about rocks and fossils but also the fossilised remains of a giant Ichthyosaur, alive at the same time as the Dinosaurs.
Ichthyosaurs were large fast swimming marine animals which were alive during the same period of time as the dinosaurs. 65 million years later and the fossilised remains of a female Ichthyosaur are now on display in The Fossil Factory at the Heights of Abraham and at around 3 metres long this is one fossil you won't want to miss!
The Fossil Factory is the latest exhibition to be opened at the Heights of Abraham and combines fun and interesting facts about the rocks and fossils found in the Peak District along with a film presentation about one of the Heights very own underground show caves The Great Masson Cavern.
