We are delighted to announce that on Sunday 17th September we will welcome members London Contemporary Orchestra and DJ Lee Gamble for the premier performance of OCCAM River XV by Eliane Radigue, curated by Shiva Feshareki
The performance will take place in the Main Chamber of the Great Masson Cavern at the Heights of Abraham.
This is a ticketed event. Limited tickets are available so book now to avoid disappointment.
You will arrive via cable car, then descend deep into the Masson Cavern to enjoy Radigue’s latest composition for violin and double bass. Electronic producer, Lee Gamble, has explored the unique environment by collaborating with soloists from the London Contemporary Orchestra; his first ever acoustic composition. The performance sets out to explore the dimensions of space and depth intrinsic to both Radigue and Gamble's work by experiencing it within a natural environment with powerful acoustic qualities. This much-anticipated concert is being recorded by BBC Radio 3 and is supported by the Arts Council England.
There will be two performances, each lasting approximately 50 minutes, starting at 4pm and 6pm.
Please be aware that the performance is standing only and is in a cavern with stairs and uneven surfaces, therefore not suitable for everyone. Warm clothing and sturdy footwear is also recommended.
Please note that the event has been organised by Shiva Feshareki, therefore please contact directly for event enquiries.
The last tour of the Great Masson Cavern on the day of the event will be 3pm. The Rutland Cavern will remain open as normal. We apologise for any inconvenience.
