Famous Heights of Abraham Tower Goes Green for Derbyshire Day

The Victoria Prospect Tower at the Heights of Abraham, overlooking Matlock Bath, will be illuminated with green light to celebrate Derbyshire Day this evening, Wednesday 22nd September.

The Victoria Prospect Tower is thought to be the very first man made structure erected in Derbyshire specifically designed to attract tourists, and was constructed by the lead miners and cavern guides who worked on Masson Hill in the early 1840’s.

The illumination will be visible from the promenade in Matlock Bath. The Derbyshire Flag will be flown from the tower during the day.
