Dogs Welcome

The Heights of Abraham aims to provide a fun filled day out for the whole family (including the dog!)

Your four legged friend travels for free in the cable car, so bring them along to join you in admiring the views and posing for photos as you soar across the Derwent Valley. Once you arrive at the summit, let your pooch lead the way through our 60-acre estate.

With a mixture of woodlands and wide open spaces, there is so much for you and your dog to see! Walk the ‘Waggy Tails Way’ with your furry friend while the other members of your group take a guided cavern tour down below. Unfortunately we can’t allow dogs into the caverns due to the amount of small and exciting looking holes that they might run into! The Waggy Tails Way is a 25 to 30 minute walk over the top of Masson Hill which has been designed to finish just around the corner from the exit of the Masson Cavern, so you can be reunited with your group once they’ve finished their tour.

Dogs and owners alike are welcome to explore the serpentine paths that Georgian tourists used to walk, and breathe in the fresh air that comes with being up so high.

Our café  terraces are open all season, so your canine friend can join you and your family in the fresh air for a spot of lunch. There are water bowls dotted around the site filled with fresh water, so your dog won’t go thirsty.

For the safety of your dog and our other guests, we ask that you do not leave your dog unattended at any point.  We also understand that at some point in the day, a dog must do its business, all we ask is that it’s cleaned up and disposed of afterwards.

We hope that you and your four legged friend have a brilliant day out at the Heights of Abraham, if you need any more information about the longer walks available from the estate, please ask at the Gift Shop.
