We have put together some frequently asked questions which should help you plan a visit to us.

Please note, the last cable car up is 30 mins before closing. We advise to check opening times before you travel.
The cable car operating times are controlled by The Heights of Abraham (Matlock Bath) Limited who reserves the right to amend the days and times of cable car operations without notice.
There are a few different ways to make a group booking. You can either give us a call – 01629 582365 or use our group booking form by following the links on this page.
If your group is more than 12 people, we ask that you let us know at least 24 hours in advance, however we can accommodate groups which turn up on the day.
Payment is usually taken on the day at our ticket office. For larger groups we are able to invoice after the visit, this is to be arranged through our main office and is subject to approval. Our terms of invoice are payment by return.
We do not normally take payment before you visit in case your numbers change on that day.
The Heights of Abraham is much more than just a cable car. We recommend to allow 3-4 hours for your visit so you have chance to visit all the locations on site. Our cavern tours are between 30-40 minutes each, plus time to get from one to the other. We also have three exhibitions, two shops, a café and a restaurant.
There’s nothing quite like seeing or experiencing somewhere for yourself to help you plan a successful visit. We offer a complimentary familiarisation ticket for two group organisers. Please note this must be pre-booked through our office – 01629 582365.

We do not have our own car park, however there is parking for coaches nearby in the Matlock Bath Railways Station car park, which is located at the northern end of the village close to the cable car base station.
We suggest to drop your group at the railway station building in the car park. The cable cars are then signposted along the new River Derwent access walkway directly in front of the railway station, and a short walk down a footpath.
To help you make the most of your visit to The Heights of Abraham, a Duty Manager will meet you when you arrive at the summit and talk you through the site. Depending on your groups requirements a private tour of the ‘Great Masson Cavern’ may be an option.
If you are forced to cancel your group booking, we appreciate as much notice as possible.
We offer complimentary ticket for the Group Organiser or Coach Driver. Plus one meal voucher for the value of £8.00 to use in our Terrace café on the day of your visit.
We take food very seriously at The Heights of Abraham and understand it plays a big part in the success of a good day out. The Vista Bar & Restaurant and Terrace Café can both accommodate groups. The only way to get to the summit is by cable car. One cable car can take six adults or the equivalent weight if you have children in your group (please have at least one adult per set with children).
The cable cars run in sets of three and are on a continuous loop with four sets in total, so you will never wait longer than three minutes for the next set. In total it takes about seven minutes to reach the summit.

Pushchairs should be folded or compacted before you board. If this is not possible please make a member of our team aware before you reach the station area.
