The Heights of Abraham is located in the heart of the Derbyshire Dales in the picturesque village of Matlock Bath. Please note that there is now a new pedestrian access walkway to the cable car base station along the River Derwent. The walkway is located directly in front of Matlock Bath railway station (Station car park).

We are just a short walk (around 400m) from Matlock Bath station. There are hourly Monday to Saturday train services to Matlock Bath from Derby, Long Eaton, Beeston and Nottingham. On Sundays direct trains operate from Nottingham Beeston, Long Eaton and Derby every two hours.
Please note that the previous access walkway to the Heights cable car station (across the railway line) has now closed and a new access walkway along the Derwent River is now in use. The new access route is in front of the railway station and a few metres to the left.

There are frequent bus services to Matlock Bath from all the major surrounding towns and cities. Both services stop very close to our cable car Base Station.

Situated on the A6, 18 miles north of Derby. Signposted from M1 junction 28 and A6 approach roads. The closest car parks are all local authority pay and display. The main car park is by the Matlock Bath railway station only a short walk away (around 400m). A new access walkway along the river Derwent is now in operation, so that visitors no longer have to cross the railway line to walk to the Cable car station. The new walkway is in front of the Railway station in the station car park.
PLEASE NOTE: The pay and display machines in the village are coin only. Please ensure you have change. During holiday times the railway station car park can get very busy, alternative car parking can be found in the Temple Car Park as you enter the village from the south and the Artists Corner Car Park as you approach the village from the north.
