The forecast doesn't always go your way, but a visit to the Heights is great in every weather.
- The cable cars are enclosed, sheltering you from the rain.
- The caverns are underground and therefore surprisingly dry!
- We have indoor exhibitions to discover.
- Sheltered picnic areas if you wish to bring your own food, or an indoor café and restaurant.
- Lots of tree cover in our outdoor spaces.

Sometimes we experience amazing cloud inversions, which are an astonishing sight to behold. It may be cloudy at the cable car base station, but this often provides a wonderful above the clouds view at the summit.
During autumn, the colours of the estate spring to life, with amazing yellows, reds and oranges bursting from the trees, creating a beautiful autumnal atmosphere.
It may be dark and cold underground, but it is never wet. The caverns benefit from a clay layer above the rock, meaning that water can't penetrate the underground surfaces. There may be one or two puddles, but it is surprisingly dry underground!
